Truth and Lies
Lie 1: "You can't get parts for them."
Truth. Most of our competitors don't even stock the hoists. What are the chances of them having parts? We keep all parts for our hoists in stock. Even apart from the normal support stock levels we maintain with the amount of hoists we ship some inevittably suffer shipping damage, these are brought back, dismantled, all parts are cataloged and placed on the shelf.
Lie 2: "The arms fall off mate." (sometimes with a photocopy of a hoist with a broken arm casting)
Truth. This story has been doing the rounds for some time now. The hoist in question is a well known Korean hoist that was the subject of an alert from the VACC on the 23rd of February 2005. The hoist arm was manufactured using a cast alloy outer sleeve. No hoist sold by Tufflift has ever used cast arms. In fact Tufflift has one of the best records in safety in the industry, well ahead of the current Australian market leaders.
Lie 3: "It doesn't comply mate"
Truth. All hoists imported by Tufflift are 3rd party verified to not just comply with Australian standards, in most cases they exceed them. Type testing to AS1418 part 9 utilises a factor of 1.25. Hanmecson and Direct lift hoists are type tested to the more rigorous American ANSI standard which requires a safety factor on type testing of 1.5. For example our popular Pro9D has been load tested to over 6 tonne with no signs of permanent deformation, this equates to an Australian rating of 4.8 tonne!
Lie 3: "You get what you pay for"
Truth. That statement generally comes from the salesman of a distributor that buys off the importer who sources from an overseas "manufacturer" who in turn sources his supply from Asia! Who pays for that chain? When you buy from Tufflift you are buying from the company that buys direct from the source. We work for a living here, we sell a lot of hoists on a small margin and after working hard for a lot of hours we do make a profit. No apologies for that, we want to be in business to support you and our products for a long time to come.
